Back to School; Tutee Spot Available

E-mail Print PDF

I'm back at college for Spring Quarter, after having to drop out last quarter from lack of money due to the gross incompetence of Bellevue College's Financial Aid office.  I'm taking Engineering Physics II, Calculus IV, and Statics.

I have decided to tutor C++/CS210 for two, possibly three hours per week.  That could be up to three students; I'll allocate my time on a first-come, first-served basis.  I've been programming for over a decade, in various languages, and I handily earned a perfect A when I took CS210. I charge $20/hr cash, due at the beginning of each session.   We can regularly meet either once a week for two hours, or twice weekly for one hour per session, at the student's discretion.  Prospective tutees should intend to meet for at least one hour every week, all quarter.  You can get an idea of my schedule availability by peeking at my calendar.  You can poke around the portfolio and software sections of this site to peruse the code I've written that I've made publicly available.  N.B. The code I wrote when I took CS210 is temporarily inaccessible without an uber top-secret key, at the request of CS professor Ravi Gandham.

Welcome

Welcome to the new marktaff.com!  The software, including digiKam, that I plan to use for my new DAM system for my photos might not be ready for my plans until summer of 2009, so until then my photos & wallpapers will remain available from the archived version of my website, directly accessible via  the photos link in the main menu.

I have also begun to roll out bits and pieces of the new system to become familiar with it and kill and grievous bugs.

If you click on any photo in the slide-shows, you will be prompted to download the uncropped, full size photo, but be aware that some of the photos may be 5-10MiB.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. Brian W. Kernighan
